About 80% of the world\'s population are infected with them and they are oblivious to age, income and nationality. There are many different factors that can lead to an infestation:

A poor diet - this can lead to colons that are clogged and impacted from years of improper eating habits, providing an environment in which the parasites can prosper.

Low stomach acid - acid is the front-line defence that digests the parasites before they can establish colonies in the intestines. As stomach acid is affected by malnutrition and stress, a balanced lifestyle with good eating habits is essential.

Exposure - parasites can be acquired from undercooked meat, poorly washed foods, animal faeces, pets or an infected water supply.

Emotional pre-disposition. Studies have found that certain negative emotions prevent the immune system from attacking the parasites as unwelcome visitors. The body learns to accept their presence and tolerate their chronic side effects. The longer this state exists, the harder it is to convince the body otherwise.

Are all parasites the same ?
No, there are hundreds of different types of parasite, even in the UK, but they do fall into several clear categories:
Protozoa - these are very small single celled organisms, such as Giardia Lamblia, normally found in polluted water supplies. They are very common but, despite their size, are often the hardest to remove. They are not always detected in faecal samples.
Sporozoa - similar to protozoa but multi-celled.
Trematodes - flat worms, for example liver flukes.
Nematodes - round worms such as hookworms, ringworms and pinworms - normally acquired from animal faeces.
Cestodes - the infamous tapeworm, normally picked up from undercooked meats.

What are the symptoms ?
Virtually any sense of illness could be caused by parasites, but a qualified kinesiologist can normally confirm whether there is an infestation, where it is located and whether this explains any given symptom. Most common are :
weight loss, nausea, abdominal pain, belching, fatigue, anxiety/depression, diarrhoea, muscle/joint pain, asthma, arthritis, nutritional deficiency, irritable bowel, fever, migraines, vomiting, constipation.

How can I treat them ?
Having just explained how damaging parasites can be to your health, recent research suggests that there may be some symbiotic relationship between host and visitor. This is particularly true for those with severe symptoms, as the parasites can act as a reservoir for toxins and thereby protect a stressed system. This temporary benefit might explain why there is often a subconscious attachment that protects them from the normal immune response.
In my own experience, I often find that parasites are only ready for treatment once other toxins, such as heavy metals, have been removed. The techniques I use trigger the whole detoxification process in one go, trusting your body to release them in the appropriate order.
The normal procedure is therefore as follows:

First of all, your liver will need support to boost your energy and ensure your excretory system is ready to process the extra toxins that will be released.
You may then need to address any other sources of toxin.
By this time, any positive benefits of the parasites will have passed and your immune system will now attack them. If there is an underlying emotional issue, this must be addressed so that your body and your immune system can learn to recognise the parasites as unwelcome visitors.
As the parasites often attach themselves to the intestinal wall, the lining may be permeated. This will correct itself naturally in a few weeks, but the stronger your immune system, the quicker it will heal.

Until the parasites have been removed, it is important to avoid simple sugars such as confectionery, heavily processed foods, white rice, dried fruits, most desserts, soft drinks etc. 3 pieces of fruit per day is fine, but preferably no fruit juice.

How long will it take ?
Every person responds differently depending on their overall health and the severity of infestation. The whole process is likely to take a month or so, but the effort is normally more than justified by the sense of physical and emotional well-being that follows the programme.

';

 newsArr[2] = '
Candida Albicans

What is it ?
Candida albicans is a naturally occurring yeast that lives within our intestines, normally causing no symptoms but serving no useful purpose either.

However, if it is allowed to spread unchecked, the toxins released will cause fatigue and a range of other unwelcome symptoms.

When it does spread, it often converts into a fungus, producing roots which penetrate the lining of the digestive tract. This allows foods to pass into the bloodstream before they have been fully digested, invoking an allergic response from the immune system.

How does it spread ?
Candida overgrowth can occur in many circumstances:
- when the immune system is weakened, perhaps after periods of stress.
- after exposure to steroid and hormone residues found in most farmed meat and dairy produce.
- after prolonged intake of anti-biotics or the pill, which destroy the friendly bacteria that normally keep the fungus at bay.
- when the diet is rich in refined sugars - the primary candida food
- when the digestive tract is exposed to mercury toxins from leaky amalgam fillings. The mercury de-activates the healthy bacteria that normally keeps the candida in check. If so, both issues must be addressed.

What are the symptoms ?
A wide variety of symptoms could be connected, but these are the most common:

weight gain
thrush
nausea
low libido
acne
dandruff
headaches
fatigue
constipation
bloating
allergies
food sensitivities
poor memory

depression
numbness
sore muscles
heartburn
abdominal pain
diarrhoea
irritable bowel
sore throat
ear infections
blurred vision
anxiety
joint pain
Can my doctor treat it ?
Candida is not often recognised as a condition in itself as it is difficult for a conventional medical diagnosis to decide what level of fungus is normal and what level is excessive. It is also hard to prove scientifically that the range of symptoms attributed to candida are directly related to the fungus overgrowth. Doctors will occasionally prescribe anti-fungal medicines, such as Nystatin, but only in particularly severe cases.

In a vast majority of cases, candida toxins interfere with the hormone receptor sites and low thyroid activity results. This may be sufficient to register on a blood test but quite often the results are borderline even though hormone levels are far from optimal.

How do I treat it naturally ?
The initial goal is to rid the body of the candida toxins and boost energy levels. After a few weeks, it is normally appropriate to tackle the candida itself, although if there are accumulated mercury or heavy metal toxins these must normally be removed first. Your body may be using the candida as a protective shield against the more damaging metals and will hinder any attempt to remove the candida while they remain.
Other therapists often suggest using specialist herbal or homoeopathic anti-fungal remedies, supported by the consumption of a range of natural foods, such as garlic, onions, olive oil and tea. Clients are often told to take probiotics to replace the healthy bacteria that have been destroyed. This is good advice that is well proven, but I find that the wide range of powerful energetic techniques I have available make this expense and effort unnecessary - good news for your bank balance!
These techniques boost your immune system and remove any emotional traumas that may be weakening your system at a physical level. This will give you the internal strength to attack the candida and bring it back under control - at the appropriate pace for you.
During this process, you should try to minimise exposure to moulds and damp in your house - open the windows as much as possible.
Is diet important to control candida ?
Diet is an important factor ! There are two key rules, in order of priority :

Minimise sugar rich foods and simple carbohydrates. A high sugar or simple carbohydrate diet leads to variable blood sugar levels and encourages the attachment of candida to the gut lining. Fruit should also be restricted to 2-3 pieces per day.
Minimise intake of fermented foods and yeasts, These include beer, lager, breads, cakes, biscuits, mushrooms, soya sauce, stock cubes, cheeses and dried fruits. All alcohol should be avoided if possible, but wine or vodka and slim-line tonic is least damaging. If my testing shows you are particularly sensitive to yeasts, you should avoid these food groups completely.

Of course, anyone on an anti-candida diet must keep a balanced perspective. It is hard to stick to an eating regime if it is too restrictive, so it is often better to take a little longer to recover, but follow a nourishing and varied menu in the meantime.
How long does it take to recover ?
Candida can be removed in a few weeks, but the whole process normally takes 2 - 3 months as the body needs to be strengthened in preparation for the detox and there may be other factors to consider.

';

 newsArr[3] = '
Mercury (amalgam) Fillings

We\'ve used it for years
so it must be safe....
Mercury is the second most toxic substance known to man, yet we place it within a few inches of our brain and leave it there for life, exposed to the numerous chemical reactions that occur in our mouths every day. From this source, mercury can move into our major organs and even pass into our children through the placenta and breast milk.

It is also commonly used as a base for some vaccinations, which is particularly worrying as the injection bypasses our immune defences. It is frightening to think that we can suffer from mercury poisoning without ever having a filling!

Surely amalgam fillings have been extensively tested?
We naturally assume that this high risk approach must have been approved on the back of years of extensive research proving the safety and stability of mercury amalgam fillings. In fact, the opposite is true. At best, amalgams are deemed safe because evidence does not irrefutably prove to the contrary. As they have been used since the early 1800’s as a cheap alternative to gold, the use of amalgams has never been subject to the normal animal and human testing that would have been demanded if the practice were to be introduced today.

Research that has been conducted shows that mercury vapours are continually released from fillings, particularly when exposed to brushing, chewing and hot or acidic foods. Although 90% is excreted, the remainder is stored in the tissues, glands and brain, increasing the risk to our overall health in the years ahead.

How could mercury damage my health ?
As with most health issues, we all respond differently to mercury, based on our sensitivity to it, our genes and our general level of health. That said, there are some common consequences of long-term exposure to mercury:

The immune system - amalgam fillings appear to reduce the number of T-lymphocyte cells, essential to our immune system.
Pregnancy and fertility - research has found a correlation between the amount of mercury in aborted foetuses and the number of fillings in the mother. Mercury can also be passed on to the child through breast feeding and has been implicated in a study of women with fertility issues.
Allergies and digestion - research has found that over 80% of people with gastrointestinal problems and allergies saw an improvement in symptoms once their amalgam fillings were removed. Mercury appears to alter the chemical make-up of the healthy bacteria, making them resistant to anti-biotics and affecting their ability to keep fungi like Candida Albicans at bay.
From a kinesiology viewpoint, I regularly find the suggestion of mercury residues in the major organs, including ovaries, thyroid, digestive tract, brain, liver etc. These can give rise to a range of symptoms, many of which are neurological. My own experiences support a recent American study of patients being treated for metal poisoning, where they found evidence of:

irritability
anxiety
chronic fatigue
twitching
metallic taste
depression
insomnia
cold hands and feet
headaches after food
skin rashes

unsolicited anger
tingling in extremities
digestive upset
tinnitus
muscle /joint pain
confusion
frequent urination
tremors / shakes
heartburn
fluid retention

How do I find out if mercury is a problem for me ?
Kinesiology is an invaluable tool when used by practitioners specialising in this area. As well as assessing whether your amalgams are relevant to your symptoms, it can be used to identify which organs, joints and tissues are worst affected.

Where mercury toxicity is implicated, it is often part of a broader picture of imbalance that must also be corrected. This is especially true of digestive disorders, where fungus may have spread and affected the integrity of the gut lining.

If I am affected, how do I get better ?
This is my suggested solution :
Leave your fillings as they are but remove the accumulated stores of mercury from your tissues and organs. This detoxification can be triggered during the treatment when it is appropriate and safe to do so.
When the metal has been released, your health should improve. This leaves the issue of the strong electromagnetic currents running through your teeth. Each tooth peg has a small negative electric potential which is the home for the ‘circadian rhythm’ - the natural rhythm of life. As this works at low voltage and low amperage, it is overwhelmed by the high charge received through the metal filling. This stresses all the energy meridians, not just the one flowing from that particular tooth, suppressing your immune system and lowering your overall health.
One solution is to have the amalgam fillings with the highest negative charge replaced with mercury-free composites. This is expensive and invasive, so any alternative would be most welcome. I am currently working with a new system that instructs the nervous system to ignore these unnatural high voltage and amperage signals, a bit like ‘Dolby’ noise reduction on a tape. This is testing very well and could well prove to be a major breaththrough.

';

 newsArr[4] = '
The Menopause

What is it ?
The menopause denotes the cessation of menstruation in women. It normally occurs at about 50 years of age, but can happen at any time between 40 and 55.

Menopause occurs when there are no longer any egg follicles left in the ovaries. This leads to a drop in the hormones oestrogen and progesterone. In response, the pituitary gland releases increasing quantities of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) in a last desperate attempt to stimulate the ovaries. This change in circulating hormones explains most of the negative symptoms associated with the menopause. The lack of oestrogen can also increase the risk of reduced bone density (osteoporosis) in later life.

What are the main symptoms ?

Hot flushes - caused by the reduced levels of oestrogen and often accompanied by increased heart rate, headaches and dizziness. This symptom often signals the impending arrival of the menopause and is normally at its worst during the first two years thereafter.
Headaches - often caused by increased instability of the blood vessels.
Atrophic vaginitis - the reduced levels of oestrogen can lead to the vaginal lining becoming thin and dry, leading to painful intercourse. This condition is aggravated by alcohol, anti-histamines, dehydration and caffeine.
Bladder infections - these are not so common, but a breakdown in the natural defence mechanism\'s that protect the bladder can lead to bacterial infections. Proper hydration helps and immune boosting herbs may also offer some benefit.
Cold hands and feet - This can occur at any time, but is particularly common around the menopause. Usual causes are low iron levels, hypothyroidism, and poor circulation.
Forgetfulness and poor concentration - normally due to a reduced supply of oxygen and nutrients to the brain. Gradual hardening of the arteries may be responsible.
Should I take HRT?
Hormone Replacement Therapy involves taking a prescribed combination of oestrogen and progesterone. It is a matter to discuss seriously with your GP and you will need to consider a range of issues which may not lead to an obvious conclusion. Some of the key points are:

In favour

Relief from hot flushes
Possible relief from other menopausal symptoms
Increase in bone density
Against

Not advised for women particularly at risk of conditions aggravated by high levels of oestrogen E.g. breast cancer, liver disease or certain cardiovascular diseases.
Side effects of nausea, breast tenderness, depression, liver disorders, enlargement of uterine fibroids, fluid retention, asthma and headaches may result. However, as levels of oestrogen are lower than in the pill, these symptoms are more common in pre-menopausal women.

A study of over 16,000 American women was suspended in July 2002 when the combination of increased risk of stroke, heart attack and breast cancer already found made it \'very clear that the risks of treatment exceeded the benefit\'. Similar adverse publicity has also now been released in the UK, but with the conclusion that the benefits may outweigh the risks for some people.

What is the natural alternative to HRT ?

Diet
Increase the amount of plant foods as they contain natural phyto-oestrogens, which have the benefits of oestrogens without the side effects. Appropriate foods are soy, flaxseed oil, nuts, apples, fennel, celery and whole grains. Animal fats should be reduced.

Exercise
A good work-out increases endorphin production from the hypothalamus - the shortage of which has been attributed to menopausal symptoms. Women who exercise for over 3 hours per week have proven less likely to have hot flushes, with the added benefits of a stronger cardiovascular system and better mood and bone health.

Herbal supplements
To help improve blood-flow and balance hormonal levels, the herbs Dong Quai, Licorice, Vitex Agnus Castus, Gingko Biloba and Black Cohosh may all help, as might the vitamins E and C. Kinesiology testing should show which, if any, of these supplements would be highly effective.

Finally, it is interesting to see the value that modern society has placed on the attraction of everlasting youth. The menopause is often seen as a disease rather than a natural life-stage and where this is so the symptoms are often most pronounced. In cultures where advancing age is viewed as a sign of great wisdom, women rarely experience the negative side-effects suffered by their Western counterparts.

';
